NFL star, Ezekiel Elliott suspended over domestic abuse, months after pulling down a woman’s top

22-year-old footballer, Ezekiel Elliott, who plays for Dallas Cowboys has been served six games ban after found guilty of domestic violence incidents, the NFL announced. This is coming after after a yearlong league investigation, into claims he abused his then-girlfriend in Ohio in 2016.
With this ban which came as a result of “violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy”, Ezekiel will have to let go of his guarantees in his four-year – nearly $25m (?19.2) deal with the Cowboys, and also forfeit other payments received from the team including over $1m in signing bonus pay.
He will also have to be evaluated for counselling or treatment, and will be required to produce an evidence that he has followed up on any recommendations made.

According to his ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson, her relationship with the star athlete as “toxic” as she claimed that Ezekiel who has been involved in a number of off-the-field incidents, including pulling down a woman’s top at a St Patrick’s Day parade in Dallas, reportedly attacked her five separate times in July 2016 in Columbus, Ohio.
In the suspension notice, NFL cited the video in its letter to Elliott, calling it “inappropriate and disturbing, and reflecting a lack of respect for women”, but said it did not factor into its decision. He also reportedly punched a man and sent him to the hospital during an altercation at a nightclub in July.
